Defragmentation For Windows!
The new Server Edition allows you to optimize your Windows server with Windows
NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. It includes the new STEALTH technology; the
management of server resources is now optimized and freely adjustable,
guaranteeing a maximum of critical server availability. The Server Edition comes
with a Management Console and includes four additional network tools and allows
you to comfortably setup, control, and automate the defragmentation
process remotely in an enterprise wide local or global network.
How it works
Also in times of affordable and fast hardware an important part of a system`s
performance is dependent on the operating system used and its integrated
file management. The most frequently- occurring problem is file fragmentation.
Files are separated in multiple single fragments and distributed over the user`s
hard disk. As a result processing these files takes much longer, because all
segments belonging to one file have to be relocated, read and put together. The
impact is particularly dramatic in Windows Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows
NT. The longer a system is in use, the more intensive file fragmentation and
therefore performance loss will occur. American Business Research Corp. in a
survey found that 56 percent of NT/2000 workstations had files fragmented on
average into between 1,050 and 8,162 pieces. One in four companies reported
finding files broken into as many as 10,000 to 51,222 fragments!
