Once the computer is turned on and Windows is loaded ACTION Process Automator can be started from the Start-Up Group or set as a Service. From this moment ACTION takes charge over predetermined tasks, triggering them whenever they are scheduled to occur. The use of ACTION is quite simple.
It is loaded to the system tray and once the icon appears ACTION is in business. Just double click the icon to add, edit or view actions. You can schedule a series of actions leaving long enough time between them to finish the prior one before the next starts. When you are not sure what to do press F1 and the on-line help will give you advise.
The small package provides a wide variety of built in tasks: Copies/moves files and directories. Copy the whole drive if you wish. Action supports wild cards, exclusion, overwrite/freshen, archive bits (and turning them off upon execution), hidden and system files.
Destination folders can be created at runtime automatically with unique names that include date/time stamp Downloads files from the Internet, including secured access FTP file transfer (upload or download), including whole directory structures, setting the date, transferring newer files only Monitors and shuts off stalled applications.
Launches applications with or without commandline parameters.
Records and Plays back TASQ Recorder macros.
Sends and receives e-mails with attachments, supports authentication and html.
Renames folders, destination can be named at runtime including date/time stamp.
Deletes folders, including `older than` option.
Executes VBScripts.
Terminates running applications.
Restarts Windows.
Prints reports.
Zips and unzips files, supports password, update, freshen, archive bit, system and hidden files. New archives can be named at run time with embedded date/time stamp.
Attaches/detaches network servers and maps/unmaps network drives.
Sets the date of files.
Dials phone numbers.
Sets the computer clock to the atomic clock.
Repeats actions.
Allows conditional execution. |
