J2ME platform is very limited in resources. One of the limitation in many J2ME systems is the size of jar file. Many current MIDP devices, for example, limit jar file sizes to 64K or less. It`s very easy to run up against these limits.
An image compression program such as jPictureSqueezer allows you to reduce the amount of space it takes to store images in jar files.
jPictureSqueezer is a powerful tool which allows developers to create image resource files and access stored images through API in their J2ME applications.
