The Big Faceless Report Generator is a Java component for creating PDF documents from XML. The Extended Edition includes a PDF reader for importing and editing data. Using JSP, ASP or similar technology, you can now create dynamic PDF reports as quickly and easily as HTML.
The Report Generator adds functionality including:
HTML-style Tables - auto-sized nested tables with full control over padding, margins and borders cascading CSS2 stylesheets to control the look and feel
inline graphs and charts with XML direct from the database
a servlet and a servlet filter for simple generation of PDF`s from HTML or JSP pages.
Auto pagination of content with page headers and footers
Familiar HTML syntax - , , , , and so on - much more straightforward than FOP
It also includes all the features of the Graph and PDF libraries - Unicode support, spot and calibrated color , encryption/password protection, hyperlinks, TrueType and Type1 fonts, OCR support , Barcodes and Graphs and Charts.
To use the package, you will need at least Java 1.2 and a SAX parser installed and running on your system. The package uses no native code, and as it`s 100% pure Java it will run easily from EJB`s or Servlets on Windows, Unix or any other system running Java 1.2 or greater.
